Wheat Berry Salad |
ヘルシー志向の義理母の影響で、ホール・グレイン(全粒穀物)に
興味を持ち始めたのは2年ほど前のこと。
先月、里帰りしていたときにウィート・ベリーというものを初めて口にしました。
今日はそのウィート・ベリーを使って、ヘルシー・サラダに挑戦♪
プチ・トマト、赤のパプリカ、紫たまねぎ、キュウリ、フェタ・チーズを加え、
レモンジュース、レモンゼストと塩でシンプルに味付け。
これ、なかなかいけるかも。
玄米より噛み応えがあって、独特の風味と食感が楽しめます。
でも、噛み過ぎて顎からこめかみの辺りがかなり疲れました~。
"Wheat Berry Salad"
What a difference one day would make! I had this super healthy salad for lunch. It was so much lighter and healthier than what I had yesterday! My mother-in-law is very into healthy eating and healthy living. When I was at her house last month, I tasted wheat berries for the first time. It was not bad at all. So, I whipped up this refreshing salad using the wheat berries. I added tomatoes, red peppers, red onions, cucumbers, and feta cheese. I flavored it with some lemon juice and lemon zest and finished it off with some salt. It was quite delightful and made me feel good eating it. One thing that is very different about wheat berries is that they are super chewy. I chewed so much that my jaw was tired! I think that I am going to incorporate this into our daily diet. Very excited!
