"Nijiya Market"
After picking JB up at the preschool, we went to one of the Japanese supermarkets in Torrance, "Nijiya Market." Even though it is a bit of a drive from my house, I go there to shop 2-3 times a month.
What makes Nijiya different from other Japanese stores? They grow their own organic fruits and vegetables at their own farm. They also created their own "Nijiya Brand" and sell different kinds of rice.
Here are some of the items that I purchased today:
Nijiya Brand Organic Brown Rice $12.99
We eat brown rice a lot. When we eat rice, about 80% of time it is brown rice. Sometimes, I mix in other multigrain to promote healthy eating.
Other things that I brought home are this sesame bread which they bake fresh daily inside the store, some autumn fruits for JB's snack, and a bento for my lunch.
They also have a big variety of bentos and other prepared foods. During the lunch time, there are always lots of people buying bentos.
All the fresh ingredients and products and the friendly service they offer keep me coming back to Nijiya - definitely one of my favorite stores!
