Washington DC: Part 1 |
"Washington DC: Part 1"
I feel that there is no need for me to explain what Washington DC is. So, I will go ahead and skip that part.
This was our very first time in DC. We decided to go to the National Mall first to see the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool, the National World War II Memorial, and the White House.
When we got off the metro at the Smithsonian station, we were in the middle of the big park. We saw our first target, the Washington Monument and started walking towards there.
The Monument is about 555 feet tall and is the tallest building in DC.
There is an observation deck at 500 feet. We were able to enjoy the great view of the entire DC area.
Well, for JB, Washington DC was not as interesting as his newly purchased car. We bought this "Suzuki Alto" at a Japanese supermarket in NJ. It cost $7.99 - almost double of what it costs to buy in Japan!
But JB truly enjoys it. He had a great time rolling the car on the marble chair at the foot of the Washington Monument.
When I was trying to take a picture of JB with the monument, he said "No, I will take a picture of you. Look over here! Say Cheese!"
I will report on the second half of our first day in DC tomorrow.
