まだLAに住んでいた頃、友人に教えてもらったレシピです。
アメリカ在住の日本人主婦の間では、大人気の和風ケーキ。
まわりはサクサク、中もっちり。この不思議な食感が人気の秘密。
お味も、なかなか。 日本人だったら、誰でも好むお菓子だと思います。
なんといっても手持ちの材料ででき、作り方も超簡単なのが◎。
先日桜もちを作ったときに余ったあんこの量にあわせて、自己流にアレンジ。
3時のおやつとして、プリスクールの後JBと一緒に頂きました♪
"Mochiko Cake"
This is a very popular recipe among Japanese wives who live in the US. I got the recipe from one of my Japanese friends in LA. We call it a cake, but its texture is definitely more like mochi. The outside is light and crunchy, but the inside is very chewy & gooey. What an interesting combination of texture! But I think that this is why it is so loved by many of us here. I had some left over sweet red beans from the other day that I wanted to use up, so I altered the original recipe to fit into my ingredient measurement. It was zen-delicious! JB and I had it together after his preschool as a snack. Mmmmmm♪
