"Children's Day (Boys' Day)"
Tomorrow is Boys' Day in Japan. It is a day to celebrate children's health, growth and happiness. However, the true meaning of this day is really to celebrate boys.
So, here is a picture of JB's "Kabuto" which is a Japanese military helmet. It represents our wish for JB to grow up to be a strong courageous man.
When I was taking pictures of the Kabuto, I found that JB's Hummer Limousine was parked under the box. I had to laugh about it because it was totally something that only JB would do. We made the blue Kabuto hat that JB is wearing at a Mommy & Me class together last year. It is almost scary that it has been already 1 year since then! Unbelievable!
Even though the actual day to celebrate this occasion is tomorrow, we celebrated it today since all of us were home together. We celebrated by eating some of the Japanese foods that JB loves such as octopus, salmon roe, etc. He also loves avocados and cucumbers so that I made shrimp and avocado salad as well. JB was not too crazy about the clam soup that I made though.
It was a nice relaxing day. I hope and wish that JB will continue grow healthy and strong!
